A daughter waits. She waits until she has grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her father has died before she tells her brave and poignant story of a father torn between denial and love for the daughter he felt he could not claim. Although the late Senator Strom Thurmond never gave his daughter his name, it is apparent that he loved her. Read Essie Mae Washington-Williams' memoir of the Strom Thurmond she knew. The Washington-Williams story brings to mind a line from a song that states, "Yes, I'm true to you darling, in my fashion. I'm true to you darling in my own way". Highly recomended reading. David Tutera shares his event and party planning expertise with you. This book reads like Tutera is sitting in your living room talking to you. He brings ideas necessary to make your party work. He talks about the look, the scent, the touch, the taste and the music. Each component is important and relative to the other. For instance for a dinner party Tutera calls Ya-Ya Sisterhood, a beautiful outdoor garden party is planned with pale colors, lots of flowers and delicate china. The music he suggests is Bette Midler's "Miss Otis Regrets". This attention to small details can make any party special. Several of the party ideas are a bit lavish for modest pockets but most of his ideas can be reasonably adapted. Available from Amazon
